Best IoT Gifts for Under 100 Euros

As I was considering turning my current studio into a smart home, I started wishing someone would give me some of the required items as gifts. At the same time, I realized that these IoT devices would be great presents for my loved ones. So here goes Driven By Tech’s Top 3 of IoT gifts for under 100 euros. After reading countless articles on the subject (on websites such as TopTenygearbrain, and ZDNet) we have come up with our own winners.

You can change the intensity and color of your lights through your smartphone (or by asking your voice assistant to do so). It also helps save electricity costs, because the bulbs are more efficient and you have the possibility of connecting them to sensors.

Beginner tip: Do not buy spare bulbs, this is not year 2010! The smart bulbs keep improving, which is why by the time you are actually done with one, an upgraded version will be available for approximately the same price.

If you are willing to spend more than 100 euros, get the color version.

Google Home Mini

Just by using your voice, you can get answers, manage your day, control your smart home and more.

We could have just as easily gone with the Amazon version discussed in our previous posts. However, as a gift, we feel that the Google Home Mini has a slight edge. Even if the receiver is part of the Amazon Ecosystem, the owner might be interested in having a separate device for personal use (to only sync his/her own personal calendar for instance). Its features include smart touch and the price is the same as the cheapest in the market, but with a better quality feel and sound than similar products.

Beginner tip: Google doesn’t sell edible donuts… yet 😉.

WeMo Switch Smart Plug Mini

By using a tablet or phone, you can wirelessly control the lights and appliances plugged into the Smart Plug. Using a specific app, you can turn your devices on and off and set schedules for them from wherever you are.
Compared perfectly to the other plug sizes at Medium. We of course recommend the affordable and efficient Mini.

Here's a video review that even our beginners can enjoy:

I hope this was useful and that you find the perfect gift for your loved ones. However, if you want to go the extra mile, why not convert their home into a smart home? This is how I did my renovation.
